1. Cleaning with Bleach and Cleaning Products

Objective:

This session teaches young people how to safely use bleach and other cleaning products to maintain a clean, healthy, and hygienic living environment.

 

Key Learning Points:

 

• Safe handling and usage of bleach and cleaning chemicals.

• Understanding product labels and potential hazards.

• Techniques for cleaning and disinfecting various areas of the home (kitchen, bathroom, living room).

• Establishing a regular cleaning routine.

2. Household Maintenance and DIY Skills

Objective:

This session empowers young people to manage basic household maintenance tasks independently, fostering confidence and self-sufficiency.

 

Key Learning Points:

 

• How to change light bulbs and fuses safely.

• Turning off the water supply and managing leaks.

• Re pressurising a boiler to ensure proper heating and hot water supply.

• Contacting and managing gas and electric suppliers.

• Assembling flat-pack furniture and using basic tools for DIY tasks.
